Back-to-School Program for Parents with Dr. Alice Licata
Psychologist and author Dr. Alice Licata will talk about her book It’s Not Rocket Science: Down-to-Earth Advice on Raising Stellar Kids on Monday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library meeting room. Dr. Licata earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Kent State University. The Kettering resident has two teenaged daughters. Unlike many parenting books that focus on the child’s behavior, the focus of Dr. Licata’s book is on behaviors that parents can learn to raise their children to be well-adjusted productive people. Book Reviewer Vick Mickunas
The Friends of Wright Library are having a special program to encourage new members to join and to provide a fun opportunity for current members to renew for the 2010-2011 year. Book reviewer extraordinaire Vick Mickunas will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, August 4 at 7 p. m. in the library meeting room. His weekly "Book Nook" column has appeared in the Dayton Daily News since mid-2004. He was the host of radio station WYSO’s long-running "Book Nook" program and now has a biweekly spot on “WYSO Weekend” on Sunday morning.
Katrina Kittle Book Signing
Meet author Katrina Kittle at Wright Library on Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Kittle’s new novel, The Blessings of the Animals, is the story of Cami Anderson, a recently divorced veterinarian. Surrounded by family and friends approaching different milestones in their relationships, Cami learns to come to terms with her own love life while sharing her hopes and fears with an angry horse, a three-legged cat, and an escape-artist goat in her care.
