Wright Library will be hosting a book discussion of this year’s Big Read community reading selection, Dreamers of the Day by Mary Doria Russell. At the end of World War I, Agnes Shanklin, an Ohio schoolteacher, uses her inheritance to take a trip to Egypt and the Holy Land. While there she meets and socializes with leaders involved in the Cairo Peace Conference staying at her hotel. Russell, an Ohio author, brings to life the unique and rich culture of the Middle East as it was then and still is today. The event will take place on Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m.

Local poet Ruth Kibler Peck will conduct a reading and discussion of her newest book, Rowing Through the Night, at Wright Memorial Public Library on Sunday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Peck has won dozens of national, state, and local awards and is the co-author of a creative writing series for Loyola University. She holds bachelors and masters degrees from Wright State University and taught junior high English for 21 years. The program will take place in the library meeting room.
