Psychologist and author Dr. Alice Licata will talk about her book It’s Not Rocket Science: Down-to-Earth Advice on Raising Stellar Kids on Monday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library meeting room. Dr. Licata earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Kent State University. The Kettering resident has two teenaged daughters. Unlike many parenting books that focus on the child’s behavior, the focus of Dr. Licata’s book is on behaviors that parents can learn to raise their children to be well-adjusted productive people. Book reviewer extraordinaire Vick Mickunas will be the guest speaker on Wednesday, August 4 at 7 p. m. in the library meeting room. His weekly "Book Nook" column has appeared in the Dayton Daily News since mid-2004. He was the host of radio station WYSO’s long-running "Book Nook" program and now has a biweekly spot on “WYSO Weekend” on Sunday morning.
