The Oakwood Historical Society​Dayton and UFOs?  The Far Hills Speaker Series, a Wright Library and Oakwood Historical Society collaboration, continues with The Legend of Roswell, the intriguing and iconic UFO story based on eyewitness accounts. In 1947, “something” crashed in the desert outside of Roswell, New Mexico. Was it a weather balloon, a Top Secret military project or a craft from another world? This program takes a look at the iconic UFO story that just won’t go away, including a possible connection with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Join Mark W. Risley as he explores this imagination  

Speaker’s biography:  Mark W. Risley is a retired airline flight operations coordinator and an advocate of history and architectural preservation.   He has been on the board of The Oakwood Historical Society since 2006 and served as our president for 3 terms. Risley is past co-chair of The Oakwood Preservation Trust, and also served on the steering committee commemorating the 100th anniversary of Dayton’s Great Flood of 1913.
