Community Discovery Walks

Some of Wright Library's most popular programs are our Community Discovery Walks. These tours of our neighborhoods, parks, and historical sites bring members of our community together to discover hidden gems and local history.

Past events have included:

April-May, 2022 Guided BioBlitz Hikes, part of a series of events celebrating Oakwood BioBlitz Week.

Hidden Oakwood Parks Walk - a ​fun and informative walk through Loy Gardens, Elizabeth Gardens, and Houk Stream led by a member of the Oakwood Historical Society.

Oakwood Architecture Walk - a guided walk celebrating the architectural styles and details of distinctive Oakwood homes, with a dollop of history thrown in, led by a member of the Oakwood Historical Society.

Walk at Woodland Cemetery - Woodland Cemetery tour guide shares stories as we tour the memorials of this beautiful Dayton arboretum.

Community Dog Walk - enjoy a morning stroll and meet other dog owners and their dogs. Destinations have included ice cream places and Oakwood's Creager Field Dog Park.
