Let’s Talk: White Privilege

Join Wright Library for a conversation about racism and white privilege. We will begin by screening the first half of the film White Like Me, a documentary featuring Tim Wise and based on his book of the same title. (The film can be accessed in full on youtube. PLEASE NOTE: Tim Wise will NOT be attending the event.) Afterwards we’ll discuss the film using the conversation café method which encourages small groups of 6-8 people to have a meaningful and enjoyable conversation while allowing for a broad range of opinions. White Like Me is a film by Tim Wise, one of the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the United States.  Please note: Tim Wise will not be attending the event.
 
Conversation Cafés are open, hosted conversations in cafes as well as conferences and classrooms – anywhere people gather to make sense of our world.
