Wright Library, with support from the Oakwood Sister City Association, is fortunate again this year to receive several crèches for display during the month of December. The crèches are on loan from the University of Dayton's Marian Library - International Marian Research Institute, whose collection includes thousands of nativities reflecting a variety of customs and traditions.
Do you like making Rainbow Loom bracelets? Join Mrs. Mills for an afternoon of bracelet making just in time for holiday gift giving on Tuesday, December 17, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Children’s Room.
Learn how to make a single pattern bracelet and a fishtail bracelet, or share your expertise with friends and make your own project. Bring your loom and supplies if you have one; however, extra looms, bands, and c-clips will be available for children who do not have their own.
After the voting in October, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed is the final winner and will be the 2014 Dayton-area Big Read book. The Big Read will run March 10 to April 19, 2014. Keep an eye out for book club and discussion groups next spring, some of which will be hosted by Wright Library. For more information visit the Big Read website.
