All history is local history. Whether you are a history buff or just interested in learning more about the place you live, the Far Hills Speaker Series has engaging stories for everyone. Presenters include local authors and historians that bring you insights into Dayton and Oakwood history, often exploring Dayton's role in a global picture. Codebreaking Series

This program series highlights Codebreaking and Cryptology, one of Dayton's best kept secrets. A Wright Library partnership with the National Cryptologic Museum.

On exhibit at Wright Library: "Breaking the Code: Dayton's Secret Role in World War II" - an historical look at Dayton Codebreakers, Joseph Desch and NCR, and the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). This exhibit was made possible with support from the National Cryptologic Museum, Oakwood Unsung Heroes, National Aviation Heritage Area honoring Montgomery County as an American World War II Heritage designation, and the Wright Memorial Public Library Foundation.
