The Underdogs coverIt’s a Dog Party!  On Saturday April 7th, Wright Library will be hosting a community dog walk in honor of the 2018 Big Read, The Underdogs: Children, Dogs, and the Power of Unconditional Love by Melissa Faye Greene, which chronicles the founding of 4 Paws for Ability, a service dog agency in Xenia.  Bring your dog, family, and friends to join us for a leisurely 1.5 mile walk from Wright Library down Shafor Blvd. to Creager Field Dog Park.

We'll kick it off at 10:00 a.m. with a "Doggie Storytime" on the Library’s front lawn. Local author Trudy Krisher will read her new picture book, Bark Park, to dogs and their families. At the end of the walk, Wright Library will be passing out Frisbees and sample dog treats from Lindy & Company, and the Dog Park will be open for business. Krisher will be also on hand to sell and sign picture books!

It’s a great chance to enjoy a morning stroll and meet other dog owners and their dogs! Not a dog owner? You’re still welcome to join us! Meet in front of Wright Library at 10:00 a.m.

All dogs must be leashed and up-to-date on vaccines. Owners accept full responsibility for their dog’s behavior, must comply with posted Dog Park rules, and are responsible for picking up pet waste. Please consider your dog’s temperament as there may be many dogs and children
