- Hoopla, Kanopy Kids, and Ohio Digital Library: access bountiful audiobooks, chapter books, picture books, easy readers, read-alongs, animated story books, music, movies, magazines and more. All you need is a Wright Library library card or eCard.
- Teen Volunteer Program: become a volunteer and earn community service hours while supporting your community.
- Doorway to Dayton Pass: Borrow a 3-day family pass to explore Dayton's most enriching activities! Passes include the Dayton Art Institute, Aullwood Audubon Center, and Dayton History/Carillon Historical Park. Reserve through the online catalog.
Teacher Library Cards and Collections
Wright Library supports educators' needs by offering a special card for professional use. Home educators and school teachers can apply for a Teacher's Library Card, which allows for longer loan periods, higher item limits, and some fine forgiveness. Please see the Teacher Library Cards page for the full policy and to complete an application, or request a Teacher Collection.
Storytimes & Programs
Crafty Kids
Every Saturday morning, craft supplies and directions are available in the kids’ room to encourage families with young children to create together. Doing crafts is a great way to engage in early literacy skills, as families read the directions, talk about what they are making, use tools like scissors and markers, and have fun together. Enthusiastic young patrons look forward to this weekly activity! See the Calendar for dates and times.
Tween Hangout
(For grades 4-7) Play games, make crafts, and hang out with friends on Tuesday afternoons. See the Calendar for dates and times.
For Teens
Teen Exam Break
(For grades 7-12) At the end of each semester (May and December), find a place at Wright Library to relax and recharge between exams. Get a bite to eat, enjoy relaxing activities, or find a quiet spot to study. Therapy dogs are also on hand for some prime petting time. Made possible with funds from the Wright Memorial Library Foundation. See the Calendar for dates and times.
Teen Hangout
(For grades 7-12) Each summer, find a place at Wright Library for games, activities, and hanging out with friends on Wednesday afternoons. See the Calendar for dates and times.
Paws to Read
“Paws" to read with a certified therapy dog! Reading to therapy dogs promotes a positive association with reading, benefitting readers of every ability. Participants must be able to read independently. Sessions are limited to 15-minutes per child, please.
Register your child(ren) by calling the Youth Services Department at 937-294-7171, or stopping by the Youth Services Desk on the Park Level. We will accept walk-ins on the day of the program, pending availability.
