Doorway to Dayton, Apr. 5 Performance Tickets

Wright Library is offering a limited number of free performance tickets to select Dayton Live performances for library cardholders (physical library card required). Tickets for Total Eclipse: The Sun and the Planets concert and other performances can be reserved on a first-call, first-served basis through Dayton Live's Box Office in the Schuster Center. Do not visit Wright Library for tickets or for the event.
These special tickets are offered in collaboration with Dayton Live and the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, and funded by the Wright Library Foundation.
Getting Tickets
Ticket reservations open Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Reserve up to 4 free tickets for this performance by visiting or calling the Dayton Live Box Office, located inside the Schuster Center, 937-228-3630. Only a limited number of tickets are available for each performance and will be available first-call, first-served.
Box Office hours are 10AM-6PM, Tuesday-Friday. Accessibility accommodations can be requested at the time of your reservation.
Tickets will be available for pick-up 2 business days after the reservation is made. To pick up your reserved tickets, you must:
- visit the Dayton Live Box Office in person before the performance, or visit the will-call booth at the performance
- present your Wright Memorial Public Library card (physical card required)
Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash value. If you cannot attend, please cancel through the Dayton Live Box Office, so others may enjoy these free tickets.
About the Concert
Presented by the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, Neal Gittleman leads this celestial celebration honoring the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. The evening begins with Nielsen’s Helios Overture, a day in the life of the sun. Later, Holst’s cosmic tour de force takes center stage. From powerful and commanding to eerie and ethereal, the work has served as a source of inspiration for composers like John Williams and Hans Zimmer. Midway through the concert, Richard Dowling performs Mozart’s exuberant Piano Concert No. 16.

This Spring, Wright Library is offering a range of Eclipse information & events to celebrate the big day on April 8.
