Join Douglas Tallamy, author of Nature's Best Hope, for a virtual presentation on the problem with turf grass lawns that cover urban and suburban landscapes and the achievable solution that will nurture biodiversity of plant and animal life we all depend on. Q&A follows the presentation.

Teens Building Solidarity for Change (TBSC) is an ongoing group to develop relationships and partnerships through commitment to each other.

This platform for students in grades 7-12 will focus on racial understanding, unity, and trust through authentic dialogue and service learning. This is a cooperative effort between DECA (Dayton Early College Academy) and Wright Memorial Public Library.

At this 2-hour workshop, teen participants will build a working, jointed Bunraku (Japanese rod) style puppet from recycled newspaper, masking tape, and craft sticks! Based on the human figure and human proportions, puppets can be transformed into just about any character. Teens will practice manipulation exercises and scripted scenes. Traditional Bunraku puppets and visuals enhance the content from the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. For grades 5-12.
