Baker & Taylor Closing Changes How We Order Books

A Note to Our Wright Library Patrons:

Changes in how we order books

Baker & Taylor, one of the nation’s largest book distributors, has recently closed. Because Wright Library, like many public libraries, relied on Baker & Taylor for ordering new materials, this change will temporarily affect how we receive and process new books and other items.

Here’s what you might notice in the coming weeks:

  • New titles may take longer to arrive. Some recently released books, movies, and audiobooks could appear on our shelves or in the catalog later than usual as we transition to new suppliers.
  • Holds and requests may move more slowly. If you’ve placed a hold on a new or popular title, we appreciate your patience while we adjust our ordering process.

Please know that our staff is actively working with other vendors to restore normal service and continue bringing you the books and materials you love.

We wanted to assure you that these delays are directly related to the Baker & Taylor closure and are not the result of any changes at Wright Library. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adapt to this industry change and for being part of the Wright Library community.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us using our online form.
