Wright Library Expands its Library of Things Collection

Latest addition includes Roku, Board Games, and Dayton Destination Passes

The Wright Memorial Public Library has expanded its popular Library of Things collection to now include Roku streaming devices, additional new and classic board games, and expanded destinations with Doorway to Dayton museum passes.

Wright Library's Library of Things offers a variety of activities, equipment, tools, and kits to try something new, learn or develop a skill, accomplish practical tasks, make someone a gift, or discover a new hobby. “It’s important for the library to make activities and experiences available at no cost to its patrons,” said Brian Potts, Operations Coordinator for Wright Library.

With support from the Wright Memorial Library Foundation, the Library of Things now includes:

  • Roku Express 4K+ devices, each with one popular streaming service plus Hoopla and Kanopy media streaming platforms;
  • New and classic board games such as Dungeons and Dragons: Waterdeep, Cat Crimes, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Classic Yahtzee, and many other titles to entertain youth, teens, and adults;
  • New Doorway to Dayton passes to The International Peace Museum and two destinations from the Dayton Society of Natural History: the Boonshoft Museum and SunWatch Indian Village. The library has also increased the number of passes available to Aullwood Audubon, Dayton Art Institute, and Dayton History at Carillon Park in response to an increase in community demand.

Wright Library patrons with a library card in good standing for 60 days are eligible to borrow from the Library of Things. Patrons must also complete a one-time Library of Things waiver, which can be downloaded from the library’s website, printed, signed, and returned to the library with library card or photo ID.
