Wright Library Seeks New Foundation Board Members

Join the Wright Library Foundation Board!

Wright Library montage of Foundation-funded activities: Science Program, Digitization Lab, Author Visits.

The Wright Memorial Public Library Foundation is seeking applicants for several open seats on its governing board. The new board members will serve a three-year term, from January 2026 through December 2028.

The Wright Library Foundation is run by a volunteer board and exists to advance the goals, objectives, and priorities of the Wright Memorial Public Library. The Foundation leads fundraising initiatives that not only allow Wright Library to provide the very best in library services to Oakwood today, but also enhances its reserves so that it can continue to serve the community for generations to come, which is especially important now, as state funding for libraries has waned. These initiatives have included an annual fund drive, a 2021 capital campaign that raised $1.5 million for building renovations, and a new Legacy Society, which encourages supporters to make a deferred gift.

Applications may be obtained at Wright Library’s Information Desk or may be printed from wrightlibrary.org/foundation and returned to the library.

Completed applications are due by 5:00 p.m., October 1, 2025.

The Foundation Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Room. The meetings are open to the public. Each board member is also assigned to at least two committees that meet on an as-needed basis. Foundation board members should show a strong interest in fundraising for the library and love the library’s place in the community.
