Support Wright Library on #GivingTuesday!

Giving Tuesday is a perfect day to support The Wright Memorial Public Library Foundation 2018 annual fund drive, which runs through December and provides the community with a way to support the Library through tax-exempt donations. The Foundation has reached $25,000 in donations toward its $30,000 goal.

The donations support the Library's mission by funding programs, materials, outreach, amenities and services that the Library could not otherwise provide the community.

The “Why We Shine” theme pays tribute to the Library’s new national designation as a Star Library, which was earned in part by being one of the most used libraries of its size in the country. The theme also recognizes the tremendous impact of the donors whose generous gifts help fund the Library’s work.

Most recently, the Foundation funded a laptop lab for teaching computer classes and group gaming experiences at the library; Wright Library’s Book Peddler, a locally built book bike that takes library services into the community; the 2017 and 2018 Gingerbread Competition and Showcase, which puts local students to the test in teamwork and engineering as they build gingerbread houses with their classmates; and a  Nintendo Switch and games for in-library gaming programs. The Far Hills Music Series and Disturbing the Peace film screening, filmmaker discussion, and conflict resolution workshop were also funded by the Foundation in 2017.

Donations to the Foundation are invested and expended for the exclusive benefit of the library and operates as a component fund of the Dayton Foundation. Anyone wishing to donate to the Library can do so by mail, at the library, or online.
