Background on the 2017 Operating Renewal Levy
Wright Library seeks to renew operating levy with zero increase
Wright Memorial Public Library will ask voters to renew its only operating levy on May 2 at zero increase to Oakwood property owners.
The renewal will not increase property taxes.
These funds will continue to support core library operations, including:
• Timely access to library materials;
• Maintenance of the facility and property;
• Convenient hours of operations; and
• Free educational programs and research services for all ages.
The levy provides about 25% of the library’s operating funds.
“Through careful stewardship, Wright Library has continued to hold operating costs
down while providing exceptional services as Oakwood’s continuous learning center.
This levy, which is a zero increase in tax support, is the Library’s only operating levy
and is absolutely essential to maintaining current levels of library service,” said
Library Director Kristi Hale.
