To work to create a bridge of understanding between diverse teens, you are invited to join Teens Building Solidarity for Change (TBSC). This will be an ongoing group to develop relationships and partnerships through commitment to each other.

Are your kids running through books at warp speed these days?  Are you looking to buy oodles of books for homeschooling this year?  Are you a dedicated bargain hunter, always ready to learn new tricks to save big bucks?  Then you need Books on a Budget, a live Zoom webinar from Jessica Bon Durant, Youth Services Library Associate, mom to two voracious readers, new homeschooler, and budget shopper extraordinaire!

If you'd like to talk about homeschooling or just hear what others are thinking about school choices this fall, please join us on Sunday, July 19 at 2pm on Zoom. This talk is more freeform than our homeschool program in June, with your thoughts and questions determining the course of the discussion. The meet-up will be recorded and posted to the library's YouTubechannel.

Oakwood City Schools Literacy Coach and Interventionist, and 14-year educator Kathy Jabir presents games, activities, and strategies parents can use with their elementary-age children to combat learning loss.  

Learn what to expect when homeschooling, how to teach your children without power plays and coercion, how to develop a learning plan based on your family's values, and how to make homeschooling fit your family and your lifestyle. Special emphasis will be placed on homeschooling during a pandemic. Discussion time will follow.
