The problems associated with climate disruption are enormous and multifaceted. It can be challenging to know where to take effective action. This presentation helps people make connections between things they care about and the possibilities available to help ensure a resilient future. Presenters will work interactively with the audience to quickly see the long-term effects of the global climate policies and actions they imagine.

August 14 | Stop by from 6:30-7:30pm to learn more about Wright Library's native plant gardens. Rain or Shine. In case of severe weather, tour the gardens during the Oakwood BioBlitz Kickoff, 11am-3pm, Saturday September, 9th.

Your garden is a place to grow plants, relax, and connect with nature. Just spending time around plants can ease stress for many people. You can also join the growing trend to regenerate and create new habitat for the creatures with which we share the planet. Learn which native plants might work in your garden and what steps you can take to invite not just butterflies but also a wider web of insect and animal life that promotes a diverse ecosystem into your yard.

The Newport Aquarium is bringing penguins to Oakwood! At the Penguins program, live African penguins visit the library with their human handlers to present information on the waddlers’ natural history, geography, diet, and more.

Shows will be held at 10:30am and 12pm. Each show is approximately 60 minutes long.

Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. | Learn about Miami Valley resident Clement Vallandigham & how he was exiled to the Confederate States by President Lincoln. Registration encouraged.
