Some events offer ListenWIFI assisted listening options. Prior to the program, request to use the Wright Library ListenWIFI receiver or download the ListenWIFI app to your own mobile device.
- The Next Chapter Book Club is for adults with Developmental Disabilities. This group meets weekly on Monday evenings at the library and on Zoom. The Next Chapter Book Club provides meaningful opportunities for lifelong-learning, social connections, and authentic community inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through weekly community-based book club meetings that include readers of all skill levels. - Tech Tutoring offers time for drop-in, one-on-one technology assistance with a librarian every Wednesday morning. See the Wright Library Calendar for Tech Tutoring.
- National Federation of the Blind meets at Wright Library on a Saturday each month. These meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity to learn about resources and meet with others who are experiencing vision loss. - Jeffrey's Journey: Film Screening and Discussion - Friday, July 11, 2025 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Dinner provided.
Wright Library and the Oakwood Inclusion Coalition invite you to a documentary film screening of Jeffrey's Journey followed by a discussion with Jeffrey McElfresh, When Jeffrey learned he had Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, a rare debilitating and progressive peripheral neuropathy, he chose to build a life rich with meaning - including cycling. The documentary, follows Jeffrey over the course of ten days as he cycles along the Ohio River, from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati.

Assistive Technology Fair (2025 April 23) - A unique opportunity to explore a wide range of assistive devices designed to support individuals with various disabilities. Numerous local vendors highlighted the latest advancements in assistive technology and how these innovations can enhance the quality of life for those with disabilities. Presented by Joel Carson from Resident Home Association of Dayton.

ListenWIFI - Offering personal amplified audio at select library programs.
Low Vision Ruby Magnifier - This device provides magnification when searching books at the library. Ask to borrow this on your next library visit.
Merlin LCD Magnifier for Enhanced Vision - Patrons are welcome to use this self-service desktop video magnifier designed to assist individuals with low vision to see printed materials more clearly. It features adjustable magnification, color contrast, and brightness settings — providing a fully customizable viewing experience. Located near the library's front entrance.
NVDA Screen Reader - For use with a library computer, the screen reader will read aloud the text on the screen, allowing users to navigate and interact with applications and websites using keyboard commands. If interested, ask to borrow this service from the Reference Desk on the main level of the library.
Large Print Books - Find a huge selection of large-print books to aid in visibility.
Accessible Accommodations - Wright Library has wheelchair accessible parking, sloped entrances, an elevator, and accessible restrooms on the Park Level. Trained Service Animals are always welcomed.
Memory Care Learning Kits in the Library of Things Collection - These kits are designed to provide meaningful activities that stimulate the mind and spark conversation between caregivers and people experiencing loss of cognitive functioning, often due to Alzheimer’s disease or Dementia. These sensory items are tools to promote memory health and awareness.
