At this community gathering co-led by the Wright Library and Oakwood Public Safety, we will all gather around a campfire at Katharine Wright Park to sing songs and share stories. Start and end times are approximate. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Come Kumbayah with us!

Bring your wild self to the library to meet 5-7 live animals, most likely including a red-tailed hawk, a barn owl and an African pygmy hedgehog. Dress up like an animal and enjoy activities before and after the 1 hour educational and interactive program.

Rock n Roll meets oil pastels on these artistic afternoons! Elementary-age children are invited to make art in a provided medium while the library plays the best music of a genre. Get inspired by the music! Make a mess on us! Try out new songs and art! Please note: the Library will be playing radio edits of songs.

Join us for a festive and lively dance celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, featuring the Nugent School of Irish Dance!

At this two-part program, families will find inspiration in the inventive creations of students from Hillel Academy and enjoy free-building with cardboard and child-safe tools. Join us at 1:30pm for an artist reception from the students of Hillel Academy. They will be speaking about the cardboard inventions they created, as inspired by selected masterworks of American art. Their pieces will remain on display at the library until June 1. Then, at 3pm, the free-building begins! Copious cardboard and child-safe tools will be provided.

March is National Reading Month.  Join Dr. Patricia Hart March 8 at 7:00 p.m. for tips on raising life-long readers.

Tune your ears and minds on to the Library's custom playlist of peace-promoting music. Children and teens will be provided air-dry clay to craft, as inspired by the music. Pieces will be displayed at the library for a few weeks, then may be picked up by their artists.
